Reggae Got Soul
Island LP, 1976
1. Rasta Man
5. I Shall Sing
7. Everybody Needs Lovin'
The follow up to the massive hit "Funky Kingston," "Reggae Got Soul" shows definite influence from American soul music. The horn driven title track is a tribute to that sound. It also features the third version of "Never You Change," one of the most beautiful tracks the group ever produced. "Living In the Ghetto" is a testament to the group's roots and the poverty of urban Jamaica. "Six and Seven Books" is an update of one of the groups first hits,
originally released in 1963.
