The follow up to the massive hit "Funky Kingston," "Reggae Got Soul" shows definite influence from American soul music. The horn driven title track is a tribute to that sound. It also features the third version of "Never You Change," one of the most beautiful tracks the group ever produced. "Living In the Ghetto" is a testament to the group's roots and the poverty of urban Jamaica. "Six and Seven Books" is an update of one of the groups first hits, originally released in 1963.
